We are Victorious

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?  No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
Romans 8:35 & 37 – NLT

God doesn’t promise us an easy life. He does not promise us a life free of hardship, unwanted diagnoses or suffering. What he does promise is victory.

In Christ, nothing we face in this life can separate us from God’s unlimited love. He is always with us. Fighting for us.  Praying for us.

He has conquered death. Sin. Disease. Evil. Hardship. Suffering.  All the things in this life that echo eternity and our longing for the perfection of the garden.

We hear it in our cries:

This isn’t right.

That doesn’t seem fair.

It’s not supposed to be this way.

It isn’t.

God’s plan is for perfection. Peace. Life. Abundance.

Sin brought death. Destruction. Decay. Disease.  Brokenness.

Christ righted these wrongs on the cross and sits victoriously at the right hand of God. Unfortunately, when we are saved, we are not immediately ushered into his presence and the perfection of heaven. We are left here on earth to face – the imperfect.

Yet we have hope. Christ is victorious and in Christ we have victory too!  Nothing we face in this life can ultimately get the better of us.  We are firm and secure in Christ. His love is constant. Our eternal state is secure.

Whatever hardships life throws at us today – we can stand confidently in the freedom that we are victorious in Christ.  Take heart my friend.  Our present hardships are temporary.

Eventually we will experience the perfection our hearts crave.  Let that craving be a reminder that God made us for more.  More love.  More peace.  More life.  Victory over every hardship.  Let us go forth in the freedom and confidence that in Christ we are victorious!
